Vibes TCG Series 3, titled "Birb & Pengu," arrived June 19 at every U.S. Target location that carries trading card games, placing Pudgy Penguins packs beside Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering.

The set adds 195 card designs and brings total circulation across the first three Vibes series to 15 million cards, according to KuCoin. It is the NFT-born brand’s widest retail push since it began building a consumer products line.

What Series 3 adds

Series 3 introduces a "Fits" mechanic, which lets players use Fits cards to upgrade character cards during gameplay. The release also adds Moonbirds NFT characters to the card artwork, alongside original designs. Orange Cap Games, the game’s development partner, built the updated mechanics.

The rollout is not a pilot. Every Target store carrying TCG products received inventory, and the project released a VibesChecker tool to help buyers find nearby stock, per crypto.news.

Why Target matters

Target ranks as the eighth-largest U.S. retailer, according to Crypto Briefing. For Pudgy Penguins, the placement moves the brand toward mainstream collectors through physical packs rather than crypto-native distribution.

The cards include Soulbound Tokens that link each pull to a blockchain entry, creating a path from retail collecting into on-chain participation.

PENGU, Pudgy Penguins' associated token on Solana, gained approximately 7% around the announcement and traded near $0.0067 with a market cap of roughly $420 million, per Crypto Briefing.

CEO Luca Netz, who acquired the project in 2022, framed the consumer line as a step toward a global entertainment brand, not a crypto-native product.
